    Update on the toe;

    Bleeding stopped.

    Swelling down.

All is good......until after Sunday when the 16 baseball/softball games I umpire this weekend finally kick in.

    Well....this weekend is done.

Umped 9 softball games Saturday, 3 baseball games today.

I may amputate both damn feet tonight.

How much do you make a game? Perhaps enough for a trip to the doctor's office?

    Money is not the issue.

The fact that I don't much give 2 squirts of shit about doctors is the issue.

Fair enough. But how much do you make for umping 12 games in two days? Hopefully it's on an escalating scale.

Went on a crazy umpiring binge last year.

    During a 48-hour softball tournament:

    Friday: 7pm til 9am Saturday; 15 games
Saturday: 2pm til 12 am Sunday; 11 games
Sunday; 5am Sunday til 3pm Sunday; 11 games

37 games in one psychotic weekend.

So ... you don't get paid anything?

    Cleared 285 this weekend.

The 48-hour tourney last year.......don't remember the exact amount, but it was close to 700.

That sounds like it's well worth it, to me.

    UPDATE--

So, I'm playing basketball today, and get my toe (yes, that toe) stepped on.

Hurt for a minute, but no big deal.

That is until I was changing afterward, took off my sock, and looked down to see a big chunk of skin was missing off the top of the corn.

After umpiring 4 softball games tonight, it looks as if ye olde toe gets another whack taken from it.
