Ask many Israelis and some Americans and they will angrily tell you it's all Qatar's fault. However flimsy the argument, this has become the bon ton in Israel over the past three months: vociferously blaming Qatar for its financial and political complicity in Hamas' vile and savage terror attack on October 7.

These critics say Qatar lavishly funded Hamas, harbored Hamas leaders and enabled the group by legitimizing it as a political power. In short, It's all Qatar's fault.

This might be true, but it's totally devoid of the political context. As such, it is a lazily convenient way of designating a fall guy so as to detract and deflect criticism, and shift the responsibility away from those who should bear it – particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

My guess is that defense Exhibits 1 through 1,400 are the videos and photos they've been showing around the world — the stuff they haven't released publicly, but anyone who has seen it has reportedly been shaken by.
