I can tell you from personal experience that in many cases these are not gun nuts exercising open carry laws like Y'all Qaeda and Meal Team Six at the Michigan state capitol in Lansing. At least when I was there in the 1990s, if the IDF issued you a weapon, as a reservist or active duty solider and you were leaving the base, even for a weekend off duty, you were required to keep it with you at all times and account for it. This meant that it was very normal to see people in uniform or out of uniform with their weapon. It's always been the case.

The Arab world is very clannish, and the Palestinians are not of their clan. That goes much deeper than it sounds to Western ears. Add in that they saw what happened in Jordan and Lebanon as a result of the influx of Palestinian refugees. They don't want that in their home countries. Add that Gaza and the West Bank being open sores diverts a lot of resources that would otherwise be available to Israel, and they like that. The Saudis are just fine with all of that remaining where it is, Israel's problem, while making a treaty with Israel that benefits them economically.

I have a hard time imagining the Tories lose 250 seats. That’s probably 40 percent of the seats in parliament overall. Also that number doesn’t include the Northern Ireland parties. If it’s remotely close they’ll throw in with the Tories again.

I've heard the term "Palestinian goatherds" more than once from other Middle Eastern ethnic groups.

Arabs treat the Palestinians much like many Republicans treat the Jews.

Republicans go on screaming "poor Israel" but would ditch them ASAP if it meant making more oil money from the Middle East.
