    I know, I know, this is what we do, but it always makes me feel a little uncomfortable when we're calling for new elections in a democratic country. The Israeli voters knew what they were getting when they put Likud back in power.

    The Likud is part of a seven-party coalition. Blame the system more than the voters.

    It's a parliamentary system, so votes of 'no confidence' are part of the democratic process.

    In fact, they seem to have them more often than you'd think.

    I know he desires to be an autocrat, but the voters have voted for Likud or allied parties repeatedly. It's up to them to toss him out, not the U.S. Senate to cajole him into resigning.

    Presumably US Senators need to be seen cajoling him, if only for their own political benefit. Since they can't bring themselves to simply close the checkbook.
