This stretch would make Stretch Armstrong jealous. The three broadcasters are not regular hosts to begin with; they fill in during the week and have weekend shifts. Ali Velshi in particular has been extremely front and center on live coverage from Tel Aviv, and Ayman Mohyeldin has made numerous appearances as a Gaza expert.

Israel finds itself at war because of the depravity of Hamas. Further bloodshed now appears unavoidable, but the way Israel fights will begin to determine what happens next: Defeating Hamas will make Israel safer; showing disregard for the killing of civilians will not.

Again, spare a thought for our colleagues.

A journalism organization on Saturday reported the deaths of at least 12 journalists due to the fighting between the militant group Hamas and Israel.

“As of October 14, in the first eight days of fighting, at least 12 journalists were killed, two were missing and eight injured,” the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said on its website.

    This needs to happen.

US says Egypt border crossing to Gaza to reopen

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday that the Egyptian-controlled border crossing into Gaza would reopen and the U.S. was working with Egypt, Israel and the United Nations to get assistance through it.

Hundreds of tonnes of aid from several countries have been waiting in Egypt's Sinai peninsula for days pending a deal for its safe delivery to Gaza and the evacuation of some foreign passport holders through the Rafah crossing.
