Not all of those protests are sympathetic to Hamas. People are pissed off about innocent people being caught in the middle of a war in Gaza. Yes, many of them are being stupid and ignorant and far too many (one is too many) are claiming that the actions of Hamas are justified, but it is inaccurate and inappropriate to say all of those people are sympathetic to or supportive of Hamas.

Innocent Palestinians have been pawns for the emirates, the rest of the Middle East and Israel for 80ish years. They certainly have my empathy.

Enough of them are being stupid and ignorant that it's concerning. There have definitely been attempts -- not necessarily here on this board, but from people in the media, on college campuses, and even political figures -- to justify Hamas' actions as some sort of righteous revolution rather than cold-blooded murder. You don't have to look too hard to find it, if you care to.

I think we both know a guy who could steer us toward lots of coverage of this issue, but he can't go to this Wal-Mart anymore.

    There’s a reason for that.

He earned that ban, but we don't need him to find those examples. More importantly, we don't need him here misrepresenting support for innocent Palestinians and anger at Israel as if it is support for Hamas. It isn't hard to find such nonsense online, nor is it hard to find actual instances of hateful, ignorant morons in this country who have voiced their sympathy for Hamas and hatred of Jewish people.

You’re antisemetic for suggesting those people shouldn’t be sad for having to flee their homes.

They’ll be welcome in none of those places, of course.
