    Moland,

Glad to hear that he's doing it for some candidates because he's not doing it for all.

Not being bitter. Full disclosure? Yeah, I applied. But no, I never heard anything from Mr. Robinson.

Either that or he just hasn't written them all yet. Hundreds of emails with a name on each don't go out simultaneously.

With my luck, Robinson has sent out emails to every applicant except me and now he knows exactly who I am and I've killed off any chance of ever being hired at the Commercial-Appeal.

Probably not. He's too busy writing emails.

The timing of this change won't allow for a long search process. Odds are that the Falcon's beat will go to either Jake Schaller or Brian Gomez...in that order.

I got one, too, and you're right, it's a gesture that's much appreciated.

Take into consideration how much interest there would be in a job like this. I'll bet he got at least 300 applications.

  8. One thing is for sure. Schaller has got one hell of an arm.

    Info:

The C-A hired both Wolken and Cacciola. Wolken will cover Memphis hoops. Cacciola will take over Ole Miss football and cover SEC basketball.

  10. Wow, that's some intersting news. Wasn't that Marlon W. Morgan's gig?

  11. From sources close to the situation:

-- Dan Wolken is in as the U of M writer and Cacciola (sp) is in as the Ole Miss/SEC hoops writer. This much we knew for sure.
-- Marlon W. Morgan is the new NBA backup, replacing Don Wade.
-- Don Wade is out of Sports. New position unclear.

Not sure when all of these changes will take place.

Glad to hear that more than one person got a "Thanks for the application" email. It helps me go to sleep at night as I continuously click check mail over and over again looking for mine. Seriously, it helps (/randomstringofprofanities).
