Men's business attire question

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Pencil Dick, May 28, 2012.

  1. I've always believed in (and worn) black shoes with a navy suit. Then my wife triumphantly pointed out in her Dress for Success book that brown was the correct choice. I say triumphantly because she believes (correctly) that I don't wear my brown dress Allen Edmonds enough.

I agree with the wife and salesman. But, black OR brown, make sure the belt matches.

  3. That much I knew on my own.

BTW, Esquire website says brown or black shoes are OK with navy suit.

I would wear an oxblood belt, one brown shoe and one black shoe.

That will increase your color spectrum profile to the broadest possible width, creating a more brandable, indelible image.

We no longer live during an age in which it's safe to assume that a single stylistic approach will ensure widespread interest.
