I didn't know being a Celtics fan AND enjoying Whitlocks columns made me a racist......shit. Can any of my fellow racists tell me what time we're meeting tonight? PM me.
And then Fenian does some stretching so he doesn't pull a hammy while getting on his high horse.

I figured what I wrote would be misconstrued. My point stems from a comment that Bob Ryan once made about the old Larry Bird Celtics unfortunately being the favorite team of racists, or at least those who wish to see whites dominate at sports. Now of course they didn't intend for that to happen, same as Whitlock isn't pandering to racists' opinions by challenging fellow black writers, athletes and leaders. When a black person does that, I fell like it gives racists carte blanche to "agree" with him, because hey, if a black guy says it, well then, why can't I?

Whitlock's trying to do the right thing by calling for some accountability.

Scoop is more of the 'fuck it, it make money' mindset.

Guess which one is more socially responsible?

I'm not saying Whitlock always gets it right, but at least he tries. That's why he rightfully deserves the Wiley successor mantle, or one of them.

Go look at what happened to Daniel Moynihan when he tried to do a serious, scholarly study of the ills affecting black America in the 1970's. He got turned on his petard, and it was bullsh*t.

J-Dub is trying to do something good. Pretending that things he brings up don't exist don't help solve problems that clearly are real, whatever their origins.

Re: Best Imus take I've read

Oh that's right because black women are the only people who have had to overcome stereotypes.

God I hate what a bunch of whiners we've become in this country
