How does Merkle's boner measure up against Buckner's?

Saw a story from the New York Times move on the wire on this last night.

I started a topic on the journo board because the Daily News is only referring to it as "Merkle's Blunder," apparently to not be offending.

This world can fucking suck sometimes when "boner" is deemed offensive.

So let me get this straight: The Cubs haven't won a pennant in 100 years and now you're telling me that the one they won 100 years ago was a fraud?

The old Replacements song should've been called "Freddie's Got a Boner." Who was Gary, anyway?

Basically. And they won a pennant in 1945.

And with this ruling, shouldn't the Yankees' pennant of 1976 been overturned? No way did Chambliss touch 'em all.

You're right. They haven't won a World Series in 100 years. My bad.
