Merry Christmas in jail for Charlie Sheen

Here's what I would do, not that anybody is asking...

Alan comes home and finds Charlie motionless on the floor. He thinks he's just passed out and goes on about his life. They find out later that he died. They find out that he had gambling debts and owed a Vegas casino hundreds of thousand of dollars. The Malibu home is taken away and Alan is left homeless.

At the funeral or at some other later point, the estranged brother of Charlie's ex-wife shows up and gets into a huge fight with her. To piss her off, he lets Alan move in with him. They can probably milk that for 2-3 seasons, which would bring in a fortune in syndication money.

Casting for the role of a womanizer in his mid-to-late 40s? Stamos would be a no-brainer.

    The casting list:

Rob Lowe is on Parks and Rec and Californication, I'm guessing he's not interested.

    John Stamos
    Scott Baio
Andrew McCarthy would be funny as hell. He wasn't bad on a recent episode of White Collar.
Estevez would be the funniest replacement, but we're not lucky enough for that to happen.
    Judd Nelson
Christian Slater, although I think he has a new show.
David Spade would be good, but Rules of Engagement has already been picked up.
Jerry O'Connell would be good if The Defenders doesn't get picked up.

I think if they go forward they'll have to go in a different direction. I don't see the "I'm cool, I bag a lot more hot women than you" kind of humor working with a character who doesn't have a relationship with the Cryer character.
I'd hire some actor who intimidates Cryer for a completely different reason. Maybe Stone Cold Steve Austin or some other former pro wrestler.

Or they should handle it the same way Three's Company did when before Somers was fired where they can talk to him on the phone during the episode.

"When do you get back from Monte Carlo Charlie?"

I think one of the best suggestions would be to have him move in with his mother.

CBS is going to regret this. They gave the guy a huge raise shortly after he was accused of putting a knife to his wife's throat.

I don't blame CBS for firing him, but Sheen will win in court. He has no behavior clause in his contract. Since he signed this contract, he has not been arrested.

Sheen's on Dan Patrick right now.

A note: Sheen was fired by CBS. He was fired by Warner Bros., which produces the program.
I don't see any scenario where he is replaced and the show doesn't quickly spiral down to ratings mediocrity except viewer inertia. Which since the average age of CBS viewers is around 60 is a powerful force -- for awhile.
NBC's got nothing to lose. Create a vehicle for Sheen, assign about six babysitters who're former Special Forces, and program it right against Two and a Half Men.

Have they cast the role of Bosley in the Charlie's Angels reboot? Or is that on CBS?

I agree. If I'm Fox or NBC, I hire him immediately.

If it's aimed at people who remember the '70s, it has to be on CBS.

They're rebooting Charlie's Angels? That deserves a thread in itself.

I agree about NBC hiring Sheen for anything on Mondays at 9 p.m. And they have cast the Bosley character, but its not a name that comes to mind.
Coming this Fall: "Rock Bottom" - a down on his luck TV star is still living the high life thanks to syndication checks and a fun group of friends including his live-in girlfriends, ex-wives battling for his attention and the guy who almost created the next big website.

If it involves gurneys, guns or badges it's on CBS. Didn't realize that every single drama on CBS involves the law until I saw that spoof on SNL last week.
