It's nationwide. In Peoria, Ill., the Peoria Public Library can't get the Journal-Star delivered because of carrier shortages. Nobody's left to deliver downtown. So they have a mail subscription and get the paper a day later.

    Good for you.
    But ... you stole it?

And here I thought you referee types were above corruption!

Haha. No. After they were rounded up after the Rocky closed, our ASE knew a bunch of people in circulation and got like five of them and gave them to those he liked best.

More classy than what my friends did, but to their credit, I think they went with Playboy instead of Hustler.

A friend used to have a Detroit News box in his kitchen, spoils of the strike, with a copy of a war front page in the window
When we had our 20th anniversary party he decided to return the box to the News
    It was a Sunday night
He dropped the box off on the sidewalk and went home
Meanwhile the crack security staff called the Detroit police and the bomb squad came out
    The building was evacuated
When they figured out there was nothing to defuse the cops left, taking the box with them, and everyone went back to work

I can't believe they chose to do this! I would think it's got class-action lawsuit written all over it. You offer a service at a price, someone pays for it, and THEN you decide you're going to change the price and therefore the duration of the service? See you in court.
