Boots, I am as big of a Mets fanboy as you'll find.

But what evidence is there that the Mets can sack up and win a fucking game this weekend?

They're not as bad as people think. They're in a bad stretch. Right now, the pressure is on them to win and hope that the Phillies falter. The Mets play at 1 p.m. today. They should win. The Phillies play at 3:05 p.m. They'll know where they stand when they hit the field.
There is pressure on both clubs. Right now, the Mets are on the outside looking in.

Boots, in the past week, the Mets should have won against the Nats and the Marlins. Instead, they've rolled over eight times.

Are they a better team than what they've shown? Probably. But with TWO games remaining, they have to sack up, win both games and hope that Philly loses a game just to get to a one-game playoff.

Look at them. David Wright looks lost. He cares, he's angry that they're falling apart, but there's he looks stunned. No one's outwardly angry.

They're dead, boots. Dead in Flushing Bay.

I remember saying that before Game 6 against the Boston Red Sox and the Mets pulled it off. I know we're talking about different times but I've been around long enough to see weird shit happen on a baseball diamond.
It's not over until its over.

I am motherfucking enjoying the motherfucking shit out of this. What's the opposite of a suicide watch? That's what you need to have on me.

Fuck you Mets. You're getting exactly what you deserve.

Nothing ever fucking changes with that dysfunctional organization. They are horribly run, from top to fucking bottom. Steve Phillips and Bobby Valentine should be cackling with glee right now.

And anyone who thinks the Mets can win this is on fucking crack cocaine. Bobby Valentine's not walking thru that door. Mike Piazza's not walking thru that door. Rick Reed's not walking thru that door. Forget it. This team has no guts, no heart, no balls, no leadership from anywhere, nothing.

    See you in February, fuckers.

You're comparing the 2007 Mets to one of the guttiest teams in baseball history, the 1986 Mets?

Have you been drinking? Abusing quaaludes? Found an eight-ball from 1973?

    Trust me, it's over.

There's no fight to this team. No one's saying, "This is bullshit. We're going to win the game tomorrow."

They've pissed away a seven game lead in less-than-two weeks. They're not going to get the break good teams get. And they don't deserve to get that break.

Finally, tonight, after the second worst regular season collapse in baseball history (see '64 Phillies for No. 1) and the third worst collapse ever if you take postseason into account (nobody will ever match the 2004 Yankees), somebody in the Mets' comatose (just like the useless manager) clubhouse admitted the truth.

    David Wright:
"This is embarrassing. This is pathetic. We have the division in our grasp with 7 games at home and we can't win even one. That's just pathetic There's nothing else to say. Pathetic."

The person I feel most for is Willie Randolph. He's a good baseball man but he could be the fall guy for this. He's made mistakes but he's not swinging a bat or throwing a pitch.
