Nah I had my own dreams of that, JC. I like conspiracies. But that isn't even the point of whether/where he was drafted, why he dropped, how he played last year in college or anything else.

It's oop. It's not worth bothering about, guys.

If you're going to post an opinion on the topic, at least get people's names right.

Michael Sam did his best work earlier in the season (Mizzou's first four games were out of conference), and Kony Ealy was playing better by the end of the season, which is one reason Ealy went in the second round. The media members voting on SEC awards took into account the entire season. NFL scouts were not under such restrictions.

He's far from alone on that. Right, Buttman?

Why have none of the so called journalists who are covering this Sam story taking a few minutes from their over the top cheerleading of it to ask Jeff Fisher a relevant question like "would you have drafted Sam if he wasn't gay? Was this more about his story than how he fits your team?"

Wrong. See LTL's post. Of course, unlike me, I doubt you will admit to your mistake.

The smiley could also indicate that he is having fun prodding people who don't care for conspiracy theories.

Yeah, even with my sloppy mistake, LTL can't counter any of the gaping holes I've poked in his arguments. Just duck and run like he is doing.

According the the NYT, Sams could be at great risk playing football.

The biggest discussion today nationwide on this is the kiss. Supposedly ESPN got so blasted with complaints that they cut it out of SportsCenter that night.

It's utterly ridiculous to see Sam held up as some sort of hero. He may turn out to be a good football player and, if so, let him prove that on the same field where everyone else proves themselves.

But I do wonder, as awash in this sea of political correctness as so many seem to be, who will be the public figures --- journalists, coaches, administrators, politicians, whomever --- to show the courage to stick by their principles and say "homosexuality is an abomination. It is a lifestyle choice, not some unfortunate medical condition. Whatever pre-disposing factors there may be in any given case, no one MADE you choose this. You are a human being, assumed capable of rational thought and with the ability to withstand the temptations the world provides."

Michael Sam is not a hero. He's a football player. And one who apparently lacked the ability to walk the straight and narrow. That's an abomination, not a cause for celebrity status.

Homosexuals are "born this way", correct? Just like those born with Downs Syndrome?
So both are retardations?

I don't believe that. Some people have claimed that. It's a lifestyle choice, not a medical condition, just like alcoholism.

Mark, I have defended you on a thing or two in the past. I don't think I can again.

Your outlook on the gay community is just wrong.
