By DAVE FORSTER AND TIM MCGLONE, The Virginian-Pilot
Atlanta Falcons quarterback and Hampton Roads native Michael Vick has accepted a plea deal – and a likely prison sentence – to avoid additional federal charges related to a professional dogfighting operation, according to one of Vick's attorneys.

Vick is going to enter a guilty plea to the felony conspiracy charge next Monday at 10:30 a.m., said Lawrence Woodward, one of Vick's defense attorneys.

"Mike's accepting full responsibility," Woodward said. "He's going to do everything he can personally and professionally to make this situation right."

CNN and MSNBC both reported possibility of 18 to 36 mos.

    Looks like 18 months minimum

  5. Under.

Her serves 6 months, but as part of the plea a pit bull is allowed to munch on his nuts for 30 minutes.

What's the over/under on NFL suspension? Does it run concurrently with the prison sentence?

It could, if Goodell decides to do it that way.

No. While he's in prison, he's good to play...

The NFL suspension lasts as long as PETA's memory.

So, is he giving people up?

Will the Falcons asking for a little money back from a signing bonus?

And then, Virginia can go after him.

Wait, if he pled guilty before that idiot Poindexter could charge him...

Can he still be charged by the localities? Is that a form of double jeopardy?

I still think the Feds are holding the gambling and extortion charges on the table just in case the allocution is not satisfactory.

It's not Double Jeopardy. It's called Dual Sovereigns. And he can be prosecuted by state authorities, even after the federal criminal plea is completed.

BTW, When Vick's lawyer Billy Martin said Vick was innocent and was looking to a trial, was Billy lying?
