Yeah, I can easily see them recoup some of that signing bonus money.

If it is 18-months, I still see him leaving prison and going to the AFL. That is where he rehabs his image. After that if Oakland doesn't have a QB expect him in California.

I had more of a nitpick with this graf: "On the night of Jan. 4, 2000, fresh into the new millennium, Florida State beat Virginia Tech for the national title. And in defeat, Michael Vick took over football in the 21st century."

Except, Pat, there was never a year "zero" and thus the new millennium -- and the 21st century -- actually began on Jan. 1, 2001. So maybe ol' Ronnie Mex really took over football in the 21st century when VT played Clemmy in the 1/1/01 Gator Bowl.

I don't think the commish will, though. Vick's initial denials can now be seen as lying to his immediate employers, the public at large and the league itself.

The media onslaught is commensurate with a murder trial. Had Vick killed one of his 'boys' I can't imagine that the coverage would be greater ... .

Prison is all about Money. Vick will have guys begging to wash his socks, not toss his salad.

Tyson was a hero in prison, and Vick will be as well.
