Vick's first job after exiting prison? Working construction for $10/hr., according to his lawyer in this story.

I don't want to say he'll be working like a dog doing it, but......

He'll hold that job until, oh, the beginning of that new league's season, right? If that long. I'll believe Vick will work on a construction site when I see it.

No doubt--what a loaf of bs.

    Construction for $10/hr?

I mean, come on, they pay the illegal immigrants more than that.

Yes, because that's how our system of criminal justice works.

Geez, what's next -- firing squads?

    2. A "mistake" is when you're driving down the road and accidentally hit a dog which darts out in the street. A "mistake" is not when you pick and choose which animals to kill, make preliminary attempts to kill them, then come back with more vicious and brutal methods if the first attempts fail.

This mewling apologia bullshit needs to be shouted down from every editorial treetop in the nation.

    Dear Michael Vick:

    1. What you did wasn't a "mistake."

    2. You're not sorry you did it; you're sorry you got caught.

    3. We don't care if you're "sorry" or not. Rot in a cell, thug.

Did we miss the story from the AJC where he (OK, his lawyers) think he'll have no problem pulling in $10M a year?

He'll be flat broke the rest of his life and will rot on the Raiders' bench ... if he even makes the team.

    Next.

    You really believe that?

In a league where Kyle Orton, Matt Cassell--back, Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Schaub, Chad Pennington, Derek Anderson, Jason Campbell, Tavarias Jackson, Stiff-of-the-month in Detroit, Jamarcus Russell and about ten other journeymen guys are starting quarterbacks?

    Don't kid yourself.

And the bottom line is, he went to jail, did his time and that's a helluva lot more than a lot of other guys in that league can say.

Took the words out of my mouth.
I'm not 100 percent convinced he'll be a full-fleged quarterback again, but he will be on a roster and he will see playing time.
And yes, he served his time. We have people in the league who have been responsible for the deaths of other HUMANS and are still playing in the NFL.

Although I agree with your basic premise, Hasselback has been a very good QB for the Seahawks when he's healthy.

That last part is certainly true.

  12. it's amazing how much more anger there is toward Vick than toward somebody like Leonard Little or Donte Stallworth.

    they were dogs

    these guys killed people

i understand that it wasn't premeditated, but god, they were humans those guys killed. they were drunk and they killed them.

what vick did was horrible and he deserves every bit of what he's getting.

but why so much more horror and outrage over a guy who killed dogs than guys who killed people?
