Re: New Michael Vick thread (no butt references edition)

Any predictions about today? Will he plead after his best friends snitched (ha, ha), or will he fight the power?

    i bet he pleads.

  3. I think he pleads, serves a year in jail and the Falcons ask for a pro-rated part of his signing bonus (about 7.5 million if I read correctly).

The big question is does the NFL suspend him beyond and prison term. So, would it be one year in jail and a year-long suspension, adding up to two years? (I hope that's what it is.)

John Clayton makes an interesting point on ESPN.com. Vick will have trouble playing in Canada if he has a felony conviction.

If he "fights the power" and goes to court he's even dumber than I thought.

I think he'll plead guilty, league will slap him with a two-year suspension (this season and next; he won't go to jail until probably November or so) then he can reapply to get back in. Depends what the NFL investigation finds. Vick could plead guilty to stuff not related to gambling. If the NFL finds Vick was involved in gambling (a decent chance of that happening), he'll be out forever.

He better plead guilty. Today. Or he's screwed for life.

Richmond, Va. — Falcons quarterback Michael Vick posed for a photo with three co-defendants and a female pit bull they were about to sponsor in a dogfight in North Carolina four years ago, newly released court records show.

In pleading guilty this morning, Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach, signed a 12-page summary of facts, citing the photo.

    HE'S D-O-N-E.

forget whether he gets a lifetime ban from goodell. NO ONE IS EVER SIGNING HIM TO PLAY IN THE NFL.

    END. OF. STORY.
