    Maintaining silos and tribes when convenient, and demanding equal treatment and rights when convenient, is in fashion more than ever.

    Maybe the next step is that some people get to use a certain word whenever and however, others are prohibited entirely and still others can rent it, paying a toll to use it, or perhaps check it out like a library book and use it for a specified period of time.

    These "words rights" issues can be tricky.

    I think Italian grandmothers should be allowed to use the word ""moulinyan," because it's funny to
    hear them say it.

    Yeah, but it's not acceptable for their Guido grandson to go tossing the word "moolie" around.
