It's called Britt's Notepad...really good pasties and was told the fish and chips was quality. the outdoor seating on the main drag face a cool shelter that sometimes has outdoor music during the day. at night lawn bowling, as was mentioned, but forget getting to play, half the time it's closed and guarded by several gangly looking punks. lots of english ales to choose. also recommend a really nice italian restuarant a couple blocks down on the other side of the street, the name escapes me but had good food. will mention that the price of some places isn't the most journalist-friendly.
also there's boat tour that cruises the mississippi, nice way to kill a couple hours during the day.
