Being against gay marriage -- at least whenever it comes on the ballot.

Maybe I'm expecting too much from her, but her answer was all over the place. Maybe it wasn't her point of view, but more the trouble she had forming a complete sentence.

She can have her opinion, and I applaud her for sticking to her beliefs and not giving a PC answer just to look good in Perez's eyes.

Now I believe she is dead wrong. But if she gave a stronger more clearly stated answer, maybe she would have won anyway.

With the exception of the time he was at Yale, I don't think he lived in Connecticut past the age of two.

She's entitled to her opinion. Anyone who disagrees has the right to do so, but she shouldn't be judged on a beauty pageant because of her thoughts on gay marriage.

    Why?

For the same reason people stare at train wrecks or rubberneck at traffic accidents?

She's entitled to her opinion. She's entitled to express her opinion. She's also entitled to deal with the fallout based on her opinion. It's part and parcel of freedom of speech and expression.

I also find it ridiculous that in a pageant that's really all about the boobs and the swimsuits, we actually pretend to give a flying frig about contestant opinions about national or world issues.

Because it's a beauty pageant not a politically correct answer contest. When they asked the question they didn't say, "you can only agree with gay marriage."

The person asking the question is well known to be gay, so if you answer as she did, she should expect Perez wouldn't like it.

It's a shitty question to ask because it puts the contestant in a tight spot. It's easy to be against hunger or disease or litter but if you are for or against gay marriage it is going to piss people off.
