Pujols shared a trainer with Grimsley. Both the trainer and Pujols denied the hell out of it, but did you believe them?

I would hope Verducci writes his honest feelings about Clemens being named in the report.

There is no mention of steroids in the Bible. Therefore, Carl Everett could not be guilty of using them ... as they do not exist.

If this is true, the Orioles win the Pharmacy MVP race with nine current or former players named.

Well, if you are privy to Clemens' voracious workout routine, why would you assume his outstanding condition is not brought about by that routine. Why would Verducci conclude otherwise?

Funny - we were just discussing this and the newsroom and I said Pujols being listed would crack me up, just for all of the times I've heard announcers hold him up as an example of guys we KNOW are completely clean.

Am I the only one surprised by Varitek?

Kerry was the guy who called David Ortiz "Manny Ortez."

Ted Kennedy made the "Sammy Sooser" remark.

I'm surprised more catchers are not listed, especially Jason Kendall.

Not if you're a George Mitchell/Red Sox conspiracy theorist. I'm seeing a 35-year-old catcher and a whoooooole lot of ex-Sox on that list. Nothing that would exactly cripple or embarrass the champs.

The New York Times Magazine wrote about Bonds voracious workout routine too, dooley. Why should we assume it was anything other than really hard work?

Other than, you know, older men can't workout as hard, or for as long, as younger guys, but suddenly guys in their 40s were having career years.

I'm not saying Verducci should have written that Clemens couldn't do what he was doing without steroids. I'm saying that, in retrospect, I bet he wishes he approached it with a bit more skepticism. That he at least raised the question, if no place else other than in his own mind, more seriously.

PCLL, not to keep dumping on Verducci, who is seriously someone I absolutely worship at the alter of, but here is what he wrote about Pujols a year ago:

Yeah, I'm surprised his singles one hop the outfielders.

    Come on now.
