I don't know about you, but I looked at the players on that list, and the declining stats most of them have had the past two years ... and I went "yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep..."

And I completely agree with Hoops. After standing next to each Giles' brother — Marcus several times — I thought "what the hell?"

Ah, snark over substance, love it.

Anyhoo, there's weight equipment, and then there's weight training, and exercise training, and those have become more sophisticated over time. Anyone who says that athletes are better than ever only because of steroids is wrong. Not that some great athletes aren't on steroids, but being a great athlete at an advanced age does not automatically mean steroid use.

And Marion Jones /= all track record-setters.

...Pokey Reese said Giles was a steroids user.

Brady Anderson shocks me. I thought it was just Froot Loops.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Mickey Tettleton?

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Andruw Jones on there, either.

Happy to see D. Lee not on it. Maybe his wrist was still bothering his power numbers last season.

And every single active player on this list will immediately be suspended. Right? Right??

Everett and Schoeneweis are the only 2005 White Sox. Those guys got real good real fast - then real bad real fast. I thought maybe an Aaron Rowand or a Paul Konerko might make the cut.

Agreed, I'm surprised there's no Javy Lopez or Steve Finley (whose power numbers spiked upward when he went to San Diego in 1996) on that list either ...
