Heyman says that "Brian Roberts also is in the report." What the hell does that mean. I guess we're just supposed to guess?

If you're not one of those guys, why feel that I'm speaking about you?

Oh..I see. I indiscriminately accuse everyone and am unable to filter out whose who becasue I'm blinded by my alleged pro-blackness.

    got it. ;D

    Whoa, whoa, whoa, there, buddy.

That's a load of shit and you know it.

Someone could just as easily throw around the N word and then say, "Hey, if you aren't an N word, why think I'm talking about you?"

You want to be taken seriously? Be more precise with your language.

Hey, he wasn't talking about race! He said so.

Of course, he pretty much contradicted himself in his next post, so....y'all can make your own assumpetions about Big Chee.

I'm not calling for patience with Clemens at all. I'm saying there are many reasons beyond race that their situations might be treated differently.

dude, i have no idea who you are. never read one of your posts (or remembered reading one of your posts) until this thread. i'm just pointing out you're the one on this thread applying your bias, whatever it may be. no where does it say, 'i'm pro-black' (whatever the hell that means) -- i just read this thread and am not really bothered much by what is said on a message board. but if that's the way you're gonna fight the good fight, it's all yours, chief

Its amazing. Someone else other than me brings up race in this thread and you guys want me to be on the defensive.

It was an A&B converstation between myself and the person I quoted. And there are many of his ilk who throw writers (or posters in this matter) who speak on race into some box as if race is the only subject they speak on, even when they're not speaking on race.

    incredible.

You actually expect Big Chee to be straightforward and not play games? I envy you your faith in your fellow man, Zeke.

Nothing is an "A&B" conversation on a public message board.

I pointed out how horribly flawed your logic is. What you do with it from there is up to you. I don't care if you're on the defensive or offensive or sitting on the bench with a thumb up your ass.

I think what's incredible is you say "you guys" which clearly implies more than one person, then quickly backtrack to say it was a message meant for one person. Attempting to be accurate is kind of a tenet of journalism, isn't it?

Wasn't George Mitchell on the Blue Ribbon Report panel that decided:

    * Baseball lost $1 billion between 1995-1999
    * The Twins should be contracted
    * Large and growing revenue disparities exist and are causing problems of chronic competitive imbalance
    * Cost of clubs TRYING TO COMPETE causes higher ticket and concession prices

Yep, this guy's spot-on with his thoughts on baseball!

Seems to me the "wait and see mentality" under discussion here is inoperative regardless of race. Ask McGwire. Or Sosa. If you can find them.

my ilk? what, precisely is my ilk? i'd like to know what you've gleamed from my posts on this -- or any -- message board. unless not liking to use capitalization is a capital offense, of course...
