Jose Canseco is at the press conference, according to ESPN.

Edit: Wow. Since etsuwes' post has the same time down to the second, I'm guessing I got beat by split seconds. Might have to go to replay on this one.

He's only the captain, that clearly doesn't count. Fucking Mitchell.

Is Lance Armstrong on the list?

Knoblauch makes a ton of sense.

And so does Jason kendall. He used to hit for power.

Any Scott Boras client makes sense. What, you think people jump to his agency because he's got better Nautilus equipment?

As for the hilariously obvious cheater Clemens, Tom Verducci should be ashamed. Yes, I'm a nobody and yes I loved reading his stuff and yes I wish I had 1/100th of his contacts or experience or knack for the written word. But it's not like Verducci was writing paens to a singles-hitting slap hitter. To think Clemens was clean because he got up earlier and ran farther than anyone else requires the type of willful ignorance unbecoming of someone of Verducci's status.

I hope his book w/the Clemens intro is yanked off the shelves. I'm not sure how anyone can take Verducci seriously again.

Sorry, I missed that. I've been watching ESPN for 30 minutes, didn't see a mention of it. And I haven't read his name on the few places I've gone to since logging on.

The press conference promises to be juicy.

Nomar, too, though he's obviously no longer with the Sox.

And the Red Sox are on the clock!

*15 minutes of discussion about which Red Sox might be named*

Mel Kiper Jr.: "My top 10 Red Sox players most likely to be named in the report are David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Curt Schilling, Mark Bellhorn, Kevin Millar, Johnny Damon, Doug Mirabelli, Mike Timlin, Tim Wakefield and Jonathan Papelbon."

    Chris Berman: "From?"

Tom Jackson and Berman: "MISSISSIPPI STATE!"

Emmitt Smith: "That would blowed me away."

Chris Mortensen: "My sources are telling me that the steroid report will not actually be released today and that Michael Vick is not going to be charged with killing dogs."

*after none of the 10 players are listed*

Theo Epstein: "Mel Kiper Jr. just does not understand how The Mitchell Report works."
