Curious about the reference to no punishment except in cases where the commissioner finds the abuse to be so extreme as to warrant some action. What would differentiate one kind of user from another?

Yeah, but not up to 2007. Baseball began steroid testing in 2004.

Sure, there are probably still guys using stuff they don't/can't test for, but the Mitchell report isn't going to stop them. But the stupid, casual use of steroids has probably been stopped since 2004.

I searched for "Albert" and "Pujols" and nothing came up.

WHAT?? You mean practically NOTHING is going to happen to any of them?? You're kidding.

Anyone surprised Mike Piazza is not on the list?

ESPN said he was there. He's obviously looking for face time and doesn't have a damn thing to do otherwise.

Ask Raffy Palmeiro and Mark McGwire if not getting into the HOF is "practically NOTHING."

Players who were at some point Cubs implicated in some way by the report: Matt Franco, Todd Hundley, Glenallen Hill, Rondell White, Todd Pratt, Kent Mercker, Jerry Hairston Jr. and Ismael Valdez.

Also Matt Karchner observed one Cub injecting the other in an apartment Karchner shared with teammates in spring training of 1999.

No Brady Anderson, either. I think we can say two things at this point:

    (1) The leaked list was way off/fabricated.

    (2) There are probably dozens, even hundreds of other players who used steroids, but there wasn't enough evidence for Mitchell to implicate them.

At least my Cubs are known more than just losing...
