Baseball is statistics driven. Football is not.

If it doesn't skew some hallowed numbers in people's minds . . . they do not care. Of course steroids is a much bigger problem in football. But NO ONE CARES . . . because not even the greatest NFL records mean anything to most people.

As far as I am concerned, dead ball/live ball and the difference between eras has more to do with skewing stats than what Bonds or Clemens may have injected into their butt. If a juiced Clemens is facing a juiced Bonds . . . where is the competitive advantage?

714, 61, 755 . . . all hallowed numbers to some. Not to me. Different eras. It was nice Aaron held the mark for so long, but Bonds' passing him drew nothing more than a "Oh, pity" from me. To Ruth's fans, Aaron's numbers are skewed because he had many more at-bats. There will ALWAYS be one reason or another to question the legitimacy of some new career record. Steroids is just one more reason.

Greater Canada is thinking about this what GC thought about Clinton and Lewinsky.

Are you people out of your minds?
