That's fucking awesome. Reminds me of my only trip to the Stadium. Ted Lilly made his first home start for the Yanks, struck out 10 in six innings against the Sox on a Sunday afternoon in April. Got a standing O in the Bronx that day, and never pitched as well in pinstripes again.

Didn't realize it was required to read every single post in a thread before posting. Is that in the SportsJournalists.com rules? Did I miss that?

i thought it was a rule you at least had to read the previous page ... maybe that's just my high standards, though. ;D

Wrong answer, though you get points for creativity.

Willie Aikens is (still?) the only player in major league history to have multi-home run games in two games of the same World Series (1980, Royals vs. Phillies).

I knew it had something to do with the World Series. Good stuff.

Technically, BYH, your answer was correct. Just not the one I was looking for.

bucky, manny drilled a weedwhacker between rivera's legs in bottom-9 for the winner. atmosphere on yawkey way afterward was electric. i love rivera but am glad i got to see one of the few times that year he blew a game.

think manny is on the list?

did i say this was eerie? in my game, justice hit a walkoff homer off d-lowe in the bottom of the 10th. sinatra starts blasting out of the speakers before he reached second base, 55K in the bronx go fucking nuts.

and for some weird reason, i don't think manny's on the list.
