I was going to mention Bagwell as well.

I think this list is going to be bigger for the guys who are no longer playing. Their entire careers will be put in question - especially for guys who might be possible Hall of Famers (if any are on the list) - and they have no way to change anything.

Current players will undergo a lot of questions and such, but, in theory, they can post stats from now until the end of their careers as non-juicers (not to mention we don't know how the steroid era will be viewed 10 years from now).

I'm wondering how many of these players have retired already. What did they say, something like 50-80 (depending on which paper you read)?

Personally, I'm ready for this story to be done. Granted, it's big news, perhaps the biggest non-labor news to hit this game since the Pete Rose affair went down in 1989. The game will be there the next day, though, and the day after that. There won't be a nuclear winter at ballparks where every stadium is deserted next year. (That comes after the next work stoppage, if there is one.)

That said, I'll wonder if Albert Belle is on this list. Mo Vaughn. Brady Anderson (like someone else said). Tuffy Rhodes. (Wait, that's someone who took steroids for a day and then threw away the shipment.)

Caminiti's likely on it. McGwire... Juan Gone... Sosa... it should be a very interesting Thursday.

I've never wondered about Brady Anderson. Of course he juiced. He's the freakin' poster child for PEDs, no?

Did I miss the fantasy draft for players named in the Mitchell report? Anybody think they could put together a complete starting nine of players named?

Heard one rumor tonight that, incredibly, no Mets are on the list but a number of Yankees are.

I've always believed Piazza was juicing, as much as I loved having him on the Mets.

My darkhorse pick (we started a little office pool tonight) is Chipper.

There is also some talk that when the investigators were getting nothing out of too many people, they began asking trainers who they "thought" might have used. Now there's some real credible info.

Nothing should surprise me, but Chipper would.

As for Piazza...I'd bet dollars to donuts his replacement in the lineup the year his groin cut in half (Jason Phillips) is on the list.

As for that "real credible info"...well, what do you expect when the bulk of the report seems to come from one rat?

I'm going to guess David Ortiz. Released by the Twins, becomes the biggest HR hitter in the game in his late 20s.

Papi is a good bet. The guy's a monster.

Wait until the Red Sox fans show up and you two will get ripped.

People have said it will make their millenium if Jeter gets named, well, I will say it will make my millenium if Papi gets named. That would be a fucking riot. Well, that and Curt Schilling.

I'd absolutely love to see Jeter named, but I'd weep in joy if the report shocked the world and A-Rod was on the list.

I'm surprised this is the first time ARod's name has been mentioned on this thread. Honestly, it wouldn't totally surprise me. Jeter would shock me, but ARod wouldn't, even though in a perfect world he would be clean and going after all of the records as a clean player.
