Another Immaculate Inning. 3 up, 3 down, 3 strikeouts, 9 pitches.

4th this season (only the 3rd time), 2nd this week, 171st ever.

Are you suggesting that I'm blaming the Pirates' failures entirely on cheap ownership? If so, that is simple ignorance on your part. I've been saying for years that it has been a toxic combination of bad baseball decisions, cheap ownership and the MLB financial system stacked against small market teams. My more recent point is that some fans bought into 2013 as a sign that ownership had somehow changed its practices for the better. That simply is not the case.

Brady Aiken was the first player selected in the MLB Draft by the Houston Astros.

Isn't he the first pitcher taken No. 1 since Brien Taylor?

    First LHP since Taylor.

Taylor, the Ryan Leaf of baseball. ;)

He is also the first high school pitcher to go No. 1 since Taylor, and only the third overall (David Clyde being the other).

I don't think that's an apt comparison, especially since Taylor didn't make it past Double A.

It was my poor attempt of a joke. My apologies. Lol
