That does sound a bit like Schilling.

If you think it's not within the realm of "competitive correctness" to bunt for a hit in a 2-0 game, it's you who has the skewed version of how the game should be played. Just bunting for average? BS. Every hit a hitter gets, with the exception of one that hits a runner and results in an out, helps the team. This is just not something for any MLB pitcher to ever gripe about.

Uggla to the Giants. Enjoy it, LTL:

Oh Christ. I almost said something when the Braves cut him too, because second base is a real sinkhole.

Eh, maybe he is this year's Pat Burrell/Cody Ross type.

I might have mentioned this a page or two back, but I am literally fearful of him hitting a game-winning homer off Kimbrel in the wild-card playoff game.

Uggla finding himself would be a huge upgrade over what the G's have gotten so far.

Even .240 with some power would be fine. Scutaro is not well and there's no one else.

Not sure Zobrist or Utley are coming so why not?

Not that it matters, because your job is always to get on, but was there ever a time that Klesko was one of the games best power hitters?

He had a .500 career SLG and a .900-plus OPS for 4 straight years from 1999-2002.

I figured some poor soul might take a flyer on Uggla. I thought it would be Ruben Amaro, ignoring the presence of Chase Utley.

Aided by some substances smuggled over the border from Tijuana, I have little doubt. If you look at his physique in San Diego compared to Atlanta, it's pretty striking. Same goes for Bret Boone.
