Went to the Cardinals-Dodgers game last night. If you're the Cardinals and you score three runs of Kershaw, you HAVE to win that game. But of course Matheny runs Rosenthal out there for the third day in a row, and he blows it. If St. Louis fails to make the playoffs or flames out early, the manager and closer will have a lot to do with it.

On the bright side, the food and beer were free in the Coke pavilion. I drank a lot of beer.

I read the baseball threads, not just the foolish accusations based on nonexistent evidence like what Steak just posted.

LOLZ look at Klesko's drop in production between 2003 and 2004.

Everybody was doin' it. Who the hell do we think "everybody" is? Everybody except whatever guy we're talking about?

    oop is fun.

Except we don't know that everybody was doing it. That is just you making things up again.

And I am fun. I also happen to be right.

I don't care if it's 27-0, if you don't want a guy to bunt for a hit against you, get your ass off the mound, field the ball, and throw him out.

More pussy-ass whining, a variant of the constant kvetching about RUTS.

Today is the 10-year anniversary of Manny Ramirez's debut as the cutoff man.

Exactly my thought. The guy's bitching because Rasmus was supposedly bunting to improve his average. So you think the guy's a shitty hitter and you're still playing the stupid shift?

Even if nothing comes of it, Rasmus was hitting sixth. If the next guy makes an out, then you still have 8-9-1 instead of 7-8-9 in the next inning.

Don't ever say I don't got the fart beat covered.

    Andy Martino @MartinoNYDN
Cliff Lee didn't have much to say about trades, but he did end his interview session with an emphatic fart, of which he seemed quite proud.

Chase Headley to the Yankees for Yangervis Solarte and a minor-leaguer, according to the Twitterverse.

North-of-30 rental with a herniated disc in his lower back that he's been playing through and for which he received a cortisone shot recently.
Once again the Yankees don't get younger.

Because when you need offense, and the fourth-best hitter from a team that's batting .215 as a unit is available, you just have to pull the trigger. You just gotta.
