Uggla's problem, I think, is that his forearms are too big. Eventually they got to the point where he can't turn around on a pitch fast enough. If he just stopped lifting for a couple of months, I think he'd be able to find his stroke.

His forearms were that big when he hit 30 hrs a year. Thing is he used to hit the ball once in a while. Now he rarely hits the ball.

The Giants would be better at second base by putting a potted plant out there.
    He stinks.

On that we agree. I get that their options at second base stunk before they picked him up, but at least grab somebody off the wire who can handle the position defensively. Uggla has been too terrible for too long with the bat to suddenly straighten himself out with just a change of scenery.

Not sure who they have in double and triple-a but i'd rather give someone a shot. Too many times guys can be complete shit and get more of a chance because a team gave him a big contract or drafted him high.

He is the fifth second baseman. The first four have flamed out spectacularly or are on the DL.

Also now playing in extreme pitchers parks.
    It was an awful pickup.

That or they can offer a prospect or two to LA to get Alex Guerrero. That'd be a much better option for SF and might allow the Giants to stay in the race.

It was a cheap, almost risk-free pickup. But they should go after Alex Guerrero.

    Too trolly, NDJ.

I get that the Dodgers are division rivals. But if the Giants offer Kyle Crick and Christian Arroyo, it might be too enticing to reject.
