Joba didn't blow the game -- Ausmus and Nathan did.

Scherzer threw eight (8 ) pitches in the eighth, striking out the final two hitters on six pitches.

Nathan brought in after he was pummeled last night -- throwing 26 pitches in the ninth and needing a miracle sliding catch by Rajai Davis to save the game.

Today he had nothing. Ausmus, who let Nathan fuck around until he gave up the tying run and loaded the bases with one out, THEN brings in Soria. Ausmus now getting incinerated on the Detroit stations.

After the game, Nathan tells reporters, "I'm not going to let it ruin my night."

You only get four hits in a game, you probably deserve to lose. People can blame the bullpen all they want, but hitting less than .200 thus far on six-game road trip is the biggest factor. It's amazing that they somehow got two wins.

When you blow a 1-run lead in the 9th inning, it doesn't really matter if it was 9-8 or 1-0 coming into the inning.

What I learned today: The same man who co-authored Ralph Branca's biography (A Moment in Time) also co-write "Sexual Healing" with Marvin Gaye.

Or, as I thought to myself after the Price deal went down: Nice, but the Tigers' pen still sucks.

The Braves and Nationals started a game at 10:51 p.m. EDT, after a 3 hour, 38-minute rain delay.

It went 11 innings and ended at 2:29 a.m.

They don't play til 8 p.m. today, but WTF?

Haven't analyzed the sked, but maybe there aren't makeup dates available?
