Neshek is right there, though Davis is doing it in the tougher league, which is why I said none has been better rather than just saying Davis has been the best. I hadn't realized how good Davis was this year, either, until a week or two ago. Looked at the same numbers you did while doing some research for my fantasy baseball team and noticed just how dominant Davis has been.

Betances has been as good as Davis.

Depends how you evaluate them. Betances has pitched more innings, but Davis has a an ERA more than half a run lower. It's not a huge gap, but I think Davis has been better.

Darwin Barney is one little hustler.

Betances better whip, like you said more innings, and way more appearances where he's pitched more than an inning. Davis has been a surprise since he was a slighty above average starter for a few seasons. Betances is finally what many thought he'd be.

I'm not taking previous production or expectations into account at all. I'm talking about performance this year.

WHIP is great for projecting future performance, but no way would I place its importance even close to ERA. One thing I'd have to look at is when each guy moved into the role of top reliever aside from the closer for their teams. Davis has a lot more holds, which provides some indication of how each has been used, but it is far from a perfect statistic.

Holds are a joke, but Davis has been great. Betances has been relied on more by his team with 31 multi-inning appearances vs. 4 for Davis. Holds were also pretty even until KC's recent streak.
