Moddy's living the life in NYC now.

He's forgotten all about the Nats by now.

Rumor has it he was seen rocking a Derek Jeter T-shirt and doing Bob Sheppard impressions the other day.

First of all, this White Sox fan doesn't like many Cub players, but backup catcher John Baker is great. Besides being the winning pitcher in a 16-inning marathon game earlier this season, he plays guitar in the dugout during a marathon rain delay. Awesome.

I agree with the point about post-Bartman Cub fans. If memory serves, the team brought Greg Maddux back after that 2003 playoff collapse, and all winter Cub fans annoyed everyone else with their 2004 World Series victory plans, behind the greatest rotation in history.

Didn't work out that way, with every blown save by the bullpen or bases-loaded failure during the 2004 season treated like that one loss would cost them the World Series.

Then to top it off, the White Sox won the World Series the next year. :)

I've already posted about the increase in night games and how that detracts from the tourist-attraction atmosphere (and attendance) in Wrigley Field. This article confirms that the Ricketts family doesn't understand the appealing part of their baseball franchise, and is focusing on the unappealing part: wins and losses.

Hell, you can't even get an Old Style at the stadium anymore! (Well, maybe that's a good thing ...)

The majority of Cubs fans have always cared more about the sizzle than the steak, so that's a pretty dumb marketing strategy.

A fanbase tends to take it personally when you tank for four straight years.

Decades. Decade after decade after decade. Go Cubbies.

Never been like this. They might have sucked righteously, but at least they were trying.
And, yes, I understand their strategy. Doesn't mean I have to praise or respect it.
    Certainly their paying customers don't.

Nothing going on in Cincinnati thru 6 ... being perpetrated by Mike Minor of all people.
