The magic that was the Gregory Polanco Pittsburgh Pirates Season Turnaround Even Though They Screwed Him On Arbitration is on hiatus as he returns to the minor leagues.

Those sonofabitching cheap-asses made him fall into a horrific slump just so they wouldn't have to pay him, probably.

Travis Snider was totally outplaying him. And he'll be back in a week when the rosters expand anyway.

Exactly right on both points. The cheap part was using him as an excuse to leave right field open, then keeping him in the minors so long. One of the cheap parts. There was also the outright lie that they were going to use the savings when Burnett turned down their $12 million offer to help elsewhere.

1-for-30 for a rook is gonna do that. He wasn't catching a whiff of the ball at the plate.

The Tigers have claimed Chad Qualls off waivers from the Astros and have til tomorrow to work out a deal. That will solve EVERYTHING.

Picking up right where Jim Johnson left off.

Adam Jones with his seventh home-run robbery in the past six years -- tops in the American League -- and throws out Matt Joyce for the double play, to boot.

And after all that, I'm not sure what wows me more: Jones' play or the fact that the home-run robbery stat is kept.

Was just about to post about that. I'm still not sure from seeing a bunch of replays that Joyce was out. Thought he might have gotten his hand in ahead of Schoop's tag. Either way, hella athletic play. That was a huge win. O's haven't had slumped much this year. Good to stop the bleeding after the disaster weekend at Wrigley.

Who would've thought that they'd be here with as much time lost as Wieters and Machado have had? I hope they close it out.

ESPNDallas.com writer has no idea how the DL works:
