In Baltimore, a fan gives Delmon Young a home run.

The MLB review process seems to have a few kinks to work out yet.

Except the end of Eck's career when his ERA was 3.90 or higher in five of his final 6 seasons.

That has negative-100 to do with what that particular conversation was about.

Yeah OK. Just that you followed Big Pern's post of Rivera finishing his career with six seasons of 2.16 ERA or lower.

    Not photoshopped.

Dodgers go extreme with the shift last night v. Paders.

The epic A's-Tigers ALCS matchup has been moved to the Wild Card play-in round.

Please tell me the batter laid down a bunt to the left side.

Is one of them an outfielder?

They needed the force at the plate, so I can imagine a shift combined with an extra infielder.

MLB Network was live with Dodgers television during this. Vin Scully remarked something along the lines of not remembering seeing it before. My immediate thought was my, oh my.

And I just looked it up. Turns out Seth Smith grounded to second for a force out at home. Yasmani Grandal saved his ass with a two-out hit.

Why the hell don't these guys learn to bunt and slap the ball the other way? They're going to spend the rest of their careers hitting .220.

Because putting baseballs pitched by major league pitchers exactly where you want it is hard.
