Hughes said he wouldn't accept the money even if they offered. Also, the team claims it would not be that easy, anyway, due to the collective bargaining agreement.

McCutcheon goes in head first on a steal of second and comes up flexing his left thumb.

Doesn't seem like an issue. He stayed in the game.

He oughta pitch the 1/3 of an inning and give the money to charity. Interesting that he would lose an MLB record if he walked the first guy he faced, though, without striking someone out. I can't imagine that's what's keeping him, though. Just throw fastballs down the middle of the plate until they hit it at someone.

Jeter batting in the bottom of the ninth with a runner in scoring position and the game tied 5-5.

And he wins it. Of course, he did.

    Grooved pitch.

Let the Hoover convention really ratchet up now.

Whoever wrote the script for tonight's Yankees-Orioles game deserves a raise.

I get that people are fed up with the slurpfest, but damn, that was exceptional.

    Meh.

And in all seriousness, is there a dry eye in Bristol right now? Can they produce SportsCenter tonight?

How does this compare to Ted Williams's final AB in Boston?
