It will come down to players like it always does.

Bochy is far and away the best manager in the National League.

Not even sure who would be No. 2. Mattingly, I guess. Maybe Clint Hurdle.

People talk a lot about what a great manager Bud Black is, but I'd like to see him make the playoffs some time before handing him that crown.

Awesome footage from the 1924 Series. Walter Johnson pitching, a walk-off World Series Game 7 win for Washington and some player sliding head-first into first base.

Passan might have had a few scotches.

Make it seven HRs against Detroit in 26 postseason plate appearances for Nelson Cruz.

BTW, Whitlock spoke to the whole KC state of mind thing I mentioned yesterday.

    Quote of the year nominee:

“Obviously they have a talented group over there, there’s no question. They have some great pitching. But come playoff time, talent can take you a long ways, but what do you have between your legs? That’s going to take you real far. And I think we’ve got a group in here that really has some of that.”

I guess he's feeling frisky -- that's a nice companion quote to his description that Bumgarner "goes out there and sticks it right up your butt."

Why the hell did the Trout thing say "Most mentioned Angel on Facebook" during that cutaway. Seriously. WTF?

That's a pretty common baseball expression.
