Yes, not typically one for public consumption, though. Anyway, it was a nice bookend anatomical reference with today's piece about the Nats.

Pretty sure Hudson was the winning pitcher in both games the Giants won vs. the Nats this year.

Great analysis of the Royals' stealing the other night.

He was. I think he gave up one earned in the two games.

I know the length of KC's playoff drought was talked about over and over, but I was thinking today that you couldn't have had a Boulevard beer or Oklahoma Joe's BBQ the last time the Royals were playing in October.

Nelson Cruz is very much a big-game player.

Shit, Boulevard has only been around since 1989. Their Pale Ale is in my fridge now — but not for long.

Old Ned is planning how he can fuck up this game about 10 different ways in a few innings.

    This was very cool.

Another link I found interesting today was this article on Deadspin about why the Royals stealing bases is not only statistically viable as a strategy, it's "a necessity."

Basically, even from a sabermetric perspective, the Royals are making the correct move by running when they can.

I saw a note today that Jon Lester hasn't attempted a pickoff move since April 2013. And Derek Norris throws out about 15 percent of runners.

So whatever the overall stats said about the Royals' break-even point, their chance of success on those seven steals Tuesday was in the high 90s at minimum.

The kid's back in again for KC. Finnegan. He could become a gigantic story before this is over.

Nedly vs. Mike Scoscia- not a meeting of Mensans.
