Why would the home plate ump make that call without asking for help?

Casilla figured just bounce it, if Harper's hands move forward they'll say he went around.

I've gotta admit, that camera shot of LaRoche just staring into the celebration as he walked toward the exit was classic.

No earthly reason the Giants should be here.

So I say SF in six games.

The possibility of an I-70 Series. As network execs cry crocodile tears.

Fox is as Cardinal-friendly as it is to the two eastern blowhard franchises.
The same dull teams making it to the final four is not great for baseball.

Which is why I am glad NYY and BOS didn't make it this year.

SF and STL wankfest every other year is no better.
At least the other rivalry captured the imagination, if for a limited period.

It makes no sense to me that the defensive team can ask the homeplate umpire to get help from either the first- or third-base umpire, but the offense can't.

Vogelsong has made five postseason starts for the Giants.

    Postseason ERA 1.19
    Career regular-season ERA 4.42

His ERA in September 2012 was 5.34; his ERA in September 2014 was 5.53.

Only pitcher in history to allow one run or fewer in each of his first five postseason starts.

Clutch doesn't exist, so there's no way to explain it.

It's interesting that individually, so many playoff games have been great thus far, yet all four series as a whole were total stinkers.
