Yup. It's really had to tell. Ruiz appears to be set up extremely inside, then the pitch causes him to reach back across his body, eliminating any chance to frame the pitch. The umpire is also set up over Ruiz's inside shoulder. The angle could be the cause of all those impressions. I'd really like to see where FoxTrax had it.

Try as they might by playing the Star Wars theme at the home opener, the Yankees will never be anything but the Evil Empire. Hmm, maybe I am missing the intentional irony...

Never too early for Michael Kay's idiocy. Speaking of the Core Four: "I don't know if you could afford to keep four players like that together as long as the Yankees did."

You can if you spend $500 million in the offseason.

Well, just keeping the whole Capuano thing going. Got a W and QS (though not up to 93 standards) to improve to 1-0. Pujols jacked a couple, too.

    From San Jose Mercury News:

    Tim Kawakami ‏@timkawakami 19m
Multiple sources: Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob has had talks with A's owner John Fisher about Lacob's interest in buying the A's... MORE...

    Tim Kawakami ‏@timkawakami 18m
But the sources indicate that Fisher has to this point told Lacob he is not looking to sell the A's.

Fisher is the money guy, although Lew Wolff is the managing partner. ... Boy, that would be pretty nice if Lacob put together a group. The Warriors' S.F. arena project is falling apart, the A's have about a zero percent chance of getting rights to San Jose, and a baseball/basketball/all-purpose shopping-housing village would be a great idea for Oakland. The only problem is that Fisher and Wolff have been able to cheapskate themselves to about $40 million a year in profits, so how high would the price have to be for them to give up on that guarantee?

Howard Bryant proposes deciding draft order based on revenue.
Along with the Rays and Tigers swapping divisions.

According to BR, Capuano has made $20.8 million playing baseball. What a country.

He's had only one season where his record was above .500.

I get that batters are taking more pitches but what is up with pitchers who are into their 100th pitch by the 5th?

There are days Sabathia nears 100 by the 4th.

Which is barely relevant as a way to determine his value. Capuano has a 4.26 career ERA, which is below average, but not awful. He was a pretty good starter in 2005 and 2006, but he had his worst season in 2007 (5.10 ERA), then did not pitch at all in 2008 and 2009 due to injury.
