You still haven't countered the entire argument. Just a small part of it.

The Giants haven't won anything yet this post-season.
They eliminated a blasé Pirates team in a dice game and then the most overrated team in the field.

Tell me more about how stathead teams hate good pitchers.

What counter is possible? Your entire argument is a feeling. "It can't be chance because I feel like it can't be chance." You don't know nearly enough about probability to make that judgement, and I've already shown you the specific cognitive bias (well, the most important one, there are several) that creates that feeling.

But I can't remove the feeling from your brain.

Actually, they won a wild card game and a division series, so they have won something regardless of your opinion of the teams they beat.

They have not won a flag, ass wipe.

Vogelsong and Peavy would not be considered good pitchers by the stathead crowd. They'd be the kinds of guys that Billy Beane would push to the side because he needed a better fourth starter.

The idea that you can see what happens year after year with teams like the Giants as opposed to teams like the A's, and think it's all chance, is funny to me.

Your idea of what statheads do and don't like is ... interesting.

It doesn't happen "year after year" with teams like the Giants. It happened twice. Maybe a third time. Maybe not.

Or maybe it happened more in your mind. I dunno what's going on in there.

My feelings, since we love feelings, is that it's hilarious that now apparently statheads like good pitchers too much and that's why they fail in the postseason. The perpetual retcons of arguments never ends.

I know. Sometimes a .730 postseason winning percentage just happens, and there's no reason for it.

The reason is that they are good at baseball.

Without resorting to "it just can't" or your feelings, explain why there needs to be more of a reason than that?

I suppose there doesn't need to be.

I would think a team or teams that can't quite get over the hump would look at it a little more closely than "whaddya know." But those teams have solved baseball.

    I'm not a team.
