    The last five years?

The Yankees led the major leagues in runs scored in 2010. They were second in 2011 and 2012. As usual, facts are not your friends.

Just because they ranked 'high' doesn't mean they didn't underachieve. And Yankee stadium is a hitter's park, too.

That wasn't posted for you to respond to, Manky. Sometimes, I just get bored enough to take the two minutes of research necessary to completely disprove your latest bit of foolishness.

It still amazes me THAT team couldn't get past a Cardinals team with John Tudor as the ace, who was a .500 pitcher before his breakout year in 85, and only one power hitter in Jack Clark.

That Cardinals team led the league in runs scored and finished second in ERA. It's not as if the other guys besides Clark and Tudor were a bunch of bums.

And anyway, the 1985 Mets won 98 games. It would be hard to argue they underachieved. Strawberry missing 40 or so games with a thumb injury didn't help, though.

Vince Coleman at leadoff with his 110 stolen bases, followed by Willie McGee hitting .353. That combination lead to a lot of easy runs, and Tom Herr's 8HR, 110 RBI year batting third.

Agreed on Rosenthal--every outing is an adventure walking on the precipice. And it's been that way for a good couple months it seems.

Cardinals pulled the plug last year in the post season on Mujica and his 37 saves when he started blowing up late in the year--which lead to Rosenthal.

Not sure they would try anything similar at this point, or if there's even really a viable option.

Ned Colletti out, Andrew Friedman in.

Pierzynski starts in Molina's place today. He has the best history against Hudson of any Cardinal.

His one season in San Francisco was special, when he became probably the most hated player ever to put on a
Giants uniform. Expect a nice warm reception. And if he hits a game-winning home run, we might see our first ever mooning around the bases.

Looks like Colletti has been bumped to a "senior adviser" role and not out and out fired and Friedman will hire a new GM.
Probably should have canned Colletti all together.
