Reds score a run without a hit in the first inning, essentially guaranteeing Samardzija loses again.

The only reason he was reversed twice was because they didn't review more than two calls.

Watching the Yankees and Mariners on MLB Network and Costas just bailed in the middle of the bottom half of the seventh inning.

Costas (to Smoltz): How are your play-by-play skills?
    Smoltz: Not bad.
Costas: Good. Take over for a little while. (muffled mic noises)
    Smoltz: ….

Costas returns, explains he had to hit the men's room. Apparently, it was full between innings and he could wait no longer.

Brewers have a 4-3 lead on the Cardinals after 6 1/2 with the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 hitters out of the lineup. Lohse drove in two with a bases-loaded single.

Good for him. I hate listening to play-by-play when the announcer's all wet.

Jose Fernandez with 8 more shutout innings against the Braves tonight.

That guy is just awesome. His slider is so unhittable for right-handers, Atlanta sat B.J. Upton, Justin Upton, Dan Uggla and Chris Johnson tonight.

K-Rod has 8 saves in 11 days and has already appeared in 15 of the Brewers' 27 games. He's going to be dead (or at least in James Andrews' office) by the All-Star break.

I understand that's a big part of their purported offense, Steak, but ... three of those guys are hitting .209, .211 and .239. I'd be trying to sit them against a lot of starters.

And, of course, that's not to say that Fernandez isn't nasty. He is.
