    Well that's that. Not bad, a two-hitter.

Has anyone else gone 8 2/3 twice?

Dave Stieb did it in back-to-back starts in 1988 -- both with two strikes. He also had a perfect game broken up with two outs in the ninth the next season, so he's actually had it happen three times.
Nolan Ryan had five broken up in the ninth, but all were with one out.

Here's a complete list of no-hitters lost in the ninth. There's a list of ones lost with two outs if you scroll down a bit:

That was a hit, and such bullshit to call it an error. I don't care what the situation.

Anyway, let's say Ortiz had bunted to beat the shift in the ninth, would you guys have a problem with it? I wouldn't personally, but I know several people would.

The Texas Rangers would have a very different history if it only took 26 outs to win a baseball game.

    That's so mean.

If David Ortiz beat out a bunt single, I'd be more worried about the apocalypse than anything else.

An error may be charged if the play could have been made with ordinary effort.

That play could have been made with ordinary effort.

Rule 10.13, if you're scoring at home. Of course, if you're scoring at home, I don't know why you're watching a ballgame.

Giants lose 1B Belt for six weeks after he's hit on the thumb vs. Dodgers Friday night. Also, some words between Puig and Bumgarner after the former's bat flip/slow trot around the bases after a home run.
