People need to get over hitters having fun hitting a baseball.

Definitely. Any level above Little League that's an error.

It should be, but it isn't always called that way. I still don't see how it is an error on Rios.

That said, it was fun just to listen to Harold Reynolds cry about it being the worst call in the history of baseball for at least five minutes last night.

Totally agree, oop, that it should have been the second baseman's error.

And there's always been confusion about whether touching the ball means anything in hit-error calls. It doesn't.

It's very difficult to do (maybe unless some lip reads watching the replay) but it should be on whoever called it.
Infielder calls it until OF calls him off. saw the replay at a bar but didn't look like Rios called him off.
Can't see how any hitter thinks he deserves a hit on play like that. If it's lost in the sun, then OK lucky hit.

On a hs board i visit a coach actually said 'think it should be an error, but the rule is no one touched it so no error.' someone told him he should not have coach in his screen name if he really believes that. of course there's baseball writers that probably believe that also.

Do away with errors entirely. Put the ball in play, reach base safely, it's a hit.

That's called tee ball or midget league or whatever they call the leagues where the coaches pitch.

Yeah, just like when batters glare/charge the mound if they get buzzed under the chin. The pitchers are just having fun throwing a baseball.

Not the same thing, and you really shouldn't need to have that explained to you.

    Well, that's a ... novel concept.
