    "One of"?

I get the feeling that the reason that the 20th anniversary is garnering so much attention is that a consensus has developed that it is the single greatest pitching performance in a century and a half of MLB.

Are we sure ESPN isn't researching all his Little League and high school figures for one of their fakata stats?

I'd definitely put it No. 1. But at the very least, it's on the short list with Koufax's 1965 perfect game vs. the Cubs and Max Scherzer's 2015 no-hitter vs. the Mets, when he struck out 9 straight at one point and the only base-runners reached via a hit-by-pitch and an error.

I was at that one. Incredible performance. Only (tiny) mark against it was the Mets had wrapped up the division and had a Triple-A lineup. But he was still stunningly great.

Didn't Clayton Kershaw's no-hitter from a few years ago get some mention in this category? I remembered reading someone proclaimed it the best, or one of the best, due to some statistical analysis or another.

It’s not just Wood’s box score line that day, either. It was his stuff, which was cartoonish. For one afternoon, some kid had magic. Who knows why?

In other words, he's perfect for the Orioles.

From 4th in the voting in 2013 for the Cy Young. ... to Sayonara in 2018.
