That L.A. Times front is outstanding. Harkens back to the good ol' days of the '80s and '90s when I would just marvel at the paper's layouts and headlines.

    LOL Orioles.

11 shutout innings, only two hits given up.

But the offense does nothing, with 20 Ks in 41 ABs.

Then the Rule 5 guy pitches the bottom of the 12th.

Lineout, single, 2 run HR. Game over.

    They shoot horses, don’t they?

Molina had surgery late Saturday or early Sunday, no word on what the surgeon actually did. But, lordy, 102 mph to the groin ain't ever going to be OK even if he had a titanium cup. Out probably a month at a minimum. Cardinals hope Carson Kelly is as good as they thought he was/is.

Add Kershaw. Bicep tendinitis (d_b with the sucking category).

The three youngest players in the major leagues are starting for the Braves today -- Albies (turns 22 in January), Acuna (turns 21 in December) and Soroka (turns 21 in August).

That's the starting pitcher and the first two hitters in the lineup.

    Albies is exciting to watch.

I'm probably not remembering someone more current but the last guy who ran the bases with the same kind of fury was rookie Vince Coleman.

I wonder if he got a hematoma down there. Giant swollen bloody lump would be scary to see. Especially for Molina.

I also wonder why something similar to the throat protector hasn't been developed yet. A solid piece of cushioned metal hanging from the chest protector would be bulky, but the metal and the cushion would absorb most of the impact.

Happy I drafted him in our soon-to-be keeper league.
